Hello Students!

I get some emails from students every day – students from my own universities of course but even outside them – asking for resources, responses to questions, or “please send me all the information you have about (…)”.

Because it is unfortunately not possible to respond to all these emails (from outside my own universities I mean) and to keep up with my other work and duties, I offer you few pages of this website to point you in the direction of resources that I provide online which should, hopefully, be helpful to you.

You can find many of my ideas and point of view in my published (offline or online) material, in which usually the different topics are dealed in more detail than in an email or a short interview.

Anyway, for a direct contact you can freely use the forms you find HERE

Best wishes for your studies.

Media Effects

The idea that people might imitate behaviour they have seen in the mass media is strongly diffused. It has had a great success among many scholars, even if  the model is often based on studies with misapplied methodology and is not grounded in theory. The reasons why are a lot. Here you can find an article by David Gauntlett (in his website) about “Ten things wrong with the media ‘effects’ model”. I agree with Gauntlett’s analysis; so, please, read it.
