Crisc-Cmcs (Centre for Media and Cultural Studies) has been representing for many years an example of how to do many interesting things with very few money, few resources in University but a bit of good will. It was born in 1997 with the name of "Osservatorio sulla Comunicazione" at the Department of Social Sciences at University of Rome "la Sapienza"; the first researches were focused on three main fields: a) sociology of consumption; b) mediatization and violence representation; c) cultural industries. During some years the Centre has been increasing its topics of study and fields of research and in 2002 it took the name of Centre for Media and Cultural Studies. In 2009 it merged with another research centre, creating a new and wider research institution, the Centre for Media and Communication Studies "Massimo Baldini", based at LUISS University, Rome, Italy.
Massimo - to whose memory the Centre is titled - is an example for everyone loving scientific research and teaching activities. Anyway he was, first of all, a friend.
