About me

I am Professor of Political Communication and of Media Studies at LUISS University of Rome, where I am also director of the CMCS – Centre for Media and Communication Studies “Massimo Baldini” (here the official blog). At LUISS University I also teach at the School of Journalism and I am member of the scientific board of the PhD in Political Theory.
As Invited Professor, I also teach Political Communication and Political Science at Pontifical Gregorian University.
I am member of the Advisory Board of the Media and Politics Group of the Political Studies Association of the UK. I coordinate (with Professor Philip Schlesinger) the “Turin Group”, a European research network on public service media; I also direct the international research centre Political Communication Lab.

I have been teaching Media Sociology for 6 years at the University of Lugano, Switzerland, and I was Professor at the University of Rome la Sapienza, Italy. I held lectures and conferences in some European Universities. My main research topics concern the political communication, the media audiences, the relationships between media and identity, the cultural industries, the social networking and the relationships between media and social participation.

Sono docente di Comunicazione Politica e di Sociologia della comunicazione alla Facoltà di Scienze Politiche della LUISS “Guido Carli”, dove dirigo il CMCS – Centre for Media and Communication Studies “Massimo Baldini” (qui il nostro BLOG ufficiale). Alla LUISS insegno anche alla Scuola di Giornalismo e sono membro del collegio scientifico del dottorato in Political Theory.
Insegno, in qualità di professore invitato, Comunicazione Politica e Scienza Politica alla Pontificia Università Gregoriana di Roma.
Sono membro dell'Advisory Board del Media and Politics Group della Political Studies Association of the UK. Coordino, insieme al Prof. Philip Schlesinger, un network europeo di ricerca sul servizio pubblico e dirigo il centro di ricerca internazionale Political Communication Lab.

Ho svolto attività di ricerca e insegnato all’Università di Roma “la Sapienza” e sono stato docente di Sociologia della comunicazione di massa all’Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) di Lugano. Ho tenuto seminari e corsi in diverse università europee. Le mie principali attività di ricerca riguardano la comunicazione politica, le audience mediali, il rapporto media-identità, le forme della produzione culturale, il social networking e le relazioni fra media e partecipazione sociale.

CMCS

I am honoured to be the director of the Centre for Media and Communication Studies, based at LUISS University in Rome, Italy. Political Communication is one of the main reaserch topics of the CMCS.
CMCS main research fields are: Political Science, Media Studies, Media and Democracy, e-Participation, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Social research.

Sono onorato di dirigere il Centre for Media and Communication Studies “Massimo Baldini” della LUISS. La comunicazione politica è una delle principali attività di ricerca del CMCS.

Il CMCS si occupa anche di Scienza politica, Media Studies, Media e Democrazia, e-Participation, Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Ricerca sociale.
